How to transfer a domain name to another registrar

Assuming you already own a domain name but for one reason or another want to transfer it to a new domain registrar, how do you do it?

It is auite simple really but may only take about a week to complete it cone you initiate the request.

First things firs, there are certain things that need to be in place before initiating a domain name transfer.

Basic requirements for transferring a domain name:

- Authorization code
- 60 days registration
- Unlocked domain
- Unexpired domain

Once you have all the above things in place, you can always initiate a domain name transfer by going to the website of the proposed new registrar and requesting for the service and your domain name will be transferred within 7 to 10 days.

How to transfer the domain name
- Log int to your new registrar
- Request for a domain name transfer
- Enter the authorization code when asked
- You may also have to pay for a 1 year extension
- Make sure your domain name is unlocked at the old registrar
- Confirm the email authorization sent by the new registrar
- Wait for approval from the old registrar
- After a few days, it should be complete
