Have you ever seen this message displayed when you visit a website you expected to be available - "Your Website is under construction"?. It could be your website or someone else's but it's not a cool message to be sending to visitors.

Most websites which display the message "Under construction" literally means what is says - It is still under construction. It may just be a new website and most websites tend to display this message by default when your web files have not been uploaded yet. You also get the message when you just signed up for a new web hosting account but not yet published your sites using ftp program.

To solve this issue, you simply have to upload your main page. You could even display a temporary home page pending the time your website design would have been completed. You could display your contact and profile there first prior to your fully active site.

If a website is still under construction for a long time, it may not add value to the internet and become less noticed by search engines since it really has no useful content. If it were a website already published in the media or already popular, then it could be losing you a lot of traffic as even former visitors may not remain so loyal again.

So if you intend using the website in the long term, try to improve on it and don't leave it vacant for a long time, to save its reputation. Sites that also experience this issue are those who are moving from one web host to another but have not moved their files yet.
